Environment

Hydroscand Group is aligned with global goals, and we respect the local environment. We are committed to sustainable development goals (SDGs) 8 and 12, which focus on responsible consumption and production, and climate action respectively.

Alongside Hydroscand Group, Hydroscand in the UK is beginning to monitor and measure our emissions connected to scope 1 and 2. This means that we have collected and measured Hydroscand’s direct emissions from our company-owned internal transport and logistics. We have also collected and measured our indirect emissions, which incorporate the energy consumption of our company-owned production sites, stores, warehouses, and offices.

Environment at Work

Analysis is one of many activities undertaken as part of our commitment to environmental management. Others include ensuring working practices that minimise environmental impact and ensuring our teams are aware of potential environmental risks and prepared for emergencies should they occur.

We also carefully manage waste, with all materials separated and as much recycled as possible. In 2022, less than 3% of our waste went to landfill.

Environmental Certification

In 2022, we achieved certification to the standards of ISO 14001:2015 including all our branches.

ISO 14001 certification demonstrates Hydroscand’s commitment to environmental stewardship. It also helps us to systematically identify and manage our environmental impacts, minimise waste and resource use, and continuously improve our environmental performance.

Environmental Training

Hydroscand team members are trained both in-house and externally in matters relating to the environment. This ranges from practical ways to avoid hydraulic oil spillage to the correct method of addressing oil spills should one occur. Spill control training is also available to our customers.
