Employees recognised for long-service

Three dedicated employees have passed the ten-year milestone working at Hydroscand UK.

Nigel Townsend started at Hydroscand back in July 2006 as Branch Manager of the old Genesis Park depot in Nottingham. After ten years he went on to become Product Manager at the new head office in Sandiacre, Nottingham, with responsibility for purchasing and the warehouse. After 14 years Nigel believes the best thing about Hydroscand is the people.

Next up is Lee Davis who started out as a Branch Technician at the Redruth branch in July 2009.  Later he became the UK’s first mobile engineer.  He’s been the Branch Manager of Bodmin for eight years now.  What Lee likes about Hydroscand is the family-run business vibe, even though it’s a global company.

“There’s lots of variety. You’re never sure what will come through the door next, or what you will be called out to next.”  said Lee.

In his spare time, Lee is looking forward to finishing his house build and his fingers are crossed that he’ll be able to move in before Christmas.

Finally, there’s Royston Tamblin who started at Hydroscand in October 2009 as an all-rounder at Redruth – answering the phone, serving at the counter, assembling hoses and attending customer visits. Nine years later he was given the golden opportunity to run the Redruth branch and he hasn’t looked back. Royston says the best thing about Hydroscand is the team who have all worked together for a combined 30 years.

When asked about his experience Royston said “When working on a busy trade counter, every day is like a hydraulics Emergency Room – you never know what will come through the door.”

During November Rebecca Galley, Managing Director, presented Nigel, Lee and Royston with a special 10-year pin.
