Not one but TWO BFPA Hose Assembly Skills Training Courses held in January

Hydroscand recognises the importance of having a skilled workforce. That’s why all our hose technicians are trained and assessed to an industry level of ability in working with hose and connectors, so that they can develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.

This January we held not one but two, two-day British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) Hose Assembly Skills Training Courses, at our head office in Nottingham. The attendees included a cross section of team members taking the course, from Sales Managers and Branch Managers to Mobile Hose Technicians and Branch Technicians.

Here are just some of the comments from those who attended:

John Marfell, Branch Manager at our Southampton branch said: “It was a very well put together course, delivered in a relaxed and informal manner that left people comfortable enough to ask questions and relay their own experiences into the conversations. This meant that it made it more relevant to the people involved. The instructor was very knowledgeable and approachable.

“It was beneficial as everyone, although we were all experienced, we all came away having learnt more about hose and fittings.

“I enjoy courses like this and learning more about the product is beneficial to myself and more importantly our customers.”

Jordan Collick, Assistant Branch Manager at our Bodmin branch said: “The course was good for learning more in depth about what we need to achieve. It was beneficial to see the importance of assembling hoses the right way.”

Aaron Johnson, Branch Technician also at our Bodmin branch added: “The Course was good for learning more about hydraulic systems and how you measure certain fittings. It was useful to see the importance of following certain procedures.”

Jordan Wearn, Branch Technician at our Cardiff branch said: “I found the course really helpful, in terms of understanding thread terminology and swage dimensions using a vernier. It was also interesting meeting other branch technicians and fitters and how they approach making hose assemblies on a day-to-day basis.”

Michael Sines, Area Sales Manager said: “The course was thorough and covered a great deal and I understand more than I did before.”

Finally, Josh Gregory, Mobile Hose Technician at our Plymouth branch added: The course was full of useful information and made me understand things I struggled with before.”

By continuing to train our teams to industry standards and maintaining our commitment to both our quality management system and the BFPA Approved Assemblies Scheme, we can offer excellent customer service and confidence to our customers.
