On 25th May 2023, the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) held their 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM). At the meeting, Hydroscand UK Managing Director, Rebecca Galley was elected as the new President, to take up office with immediate effect.
Rebecca is an experienced business leader and has gained commercial, sales and general management expertise from her varied roles, including that as the Managing Director of Hydroscand, held since 2019.
Rebecca’s passion for the industry and commitment to promote engineering and manufacturing to the next generation is inspiring. As President, she intends to bring about more awareness and education about the industry to young people.
At the same time, she will support the BFPA executive team in carrying on their strategic focuses, which include improving standards, health, safety & environment and providing great market information and statistics to the association’s membership.
Rebecca said: “It's an honour to be part of the work the association is doing to represent us as members and the wider industry. An industry, which not only employs over 12,000 people but also keeps businesses in so many and such varied key sectors moving and working.
“When I considered the pros and cons of standing for the vice president role two years ago, the idea of being able to make a difference stood out to me.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside John Farmer as President, representing BFPA members for the last two years.
“By working together through the BFPA we can collectively address our common challenges, present and future.
“Alongside Chris Butcher, the BFPA team, the Board of Directors and Swapnil Khedekar, who is now Vice President, I will continue to promote collaboration and cooperation for the benefit of all of us and for the future of the industry.”
